General FAQs

IIT Ashram offers courses for the preparation of JEE Main (AIEEE), JEE Advanced (IIT-JEE) and NEET, starting right from class ninth. We take an admission test to judge the aptitude of the student for such our courses. The test syllabus includes the complete course of the previous class passed, i.e. a student seeking admission in class ninth will be tested on the class eighth syllabus, a student seeking admission in class eleventh will be tested on tenth class syllabus. The subjects tested for all classes will be Science (including Biology), Mathematics and Mental Ability.
IIT Ashram provides a hostel facility in partnership with an external accommodation place. Please speak with us to get more information on this.

The medium of instruction is bilingual. It's a mix of English and Hindi. The emphasis is on communicating clearly and facilitating an ease in the understanding of concepts.

IIT Ashram prepares students to succeed in JEE Main (AIEEE), JEE Advanced (IIT-JEE), NEET, NTSE, KVPY, Olympiads. Emphasis is laid on understanding of concepts and the fundamentals pertaining to the Board syllabus. IIT Ashram provides students a strong base in fundamental science and mathematics. This preparation helps the students in developing a keen sense of analytical and logical skills. This also helps in post-graduate entrance examinations like CAT, IAS etc.
At IIT Ashram, we encourage genuine merit and labour. We offer scholarships in the form of fee discounts, varying from 10% to 100% of the fees payable for meritorious students. The fee discounts applicable are based on the percentage of marks scored in our admission test.
Starting from a minimum fee discount of 15% available at 20% scored in our admission tests, the discount steadily rises to 100% for 90% or above scored in the admission tests.

NEET FAQs

Candidates who have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as compulsory subjects and have secured a minimum of 50% marks (40% for reserved category) are eligible to appear for NEET.
NEET is a three-hour exam comprising 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. Each correct answer carries 4 marks, and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
The minimum qualifying marks for NEET is 50 percentile for the general category and 40 percentile for reserved categories. However, the cut-off marks vary from year to year, depending on the difficulty level of the exam and the number of candidates who appear for it.

JEE Mains FAQs

Candidates who have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and have secured a minimum of 75% marks (65% for reserved category) are eligible to appear for JEE Main. There is no age limit for the exam.
JEE Main is a three-hour exam comprising 90 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each correct answer carries 4 marks, and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
The application process for JEE Main typically starts in December, and the exam is usually held in February, March, April, or May. JEE Advance FAQs

Only those candidates who qualify JEE Main and rank among the top 2,50,000 candidates are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. Candidates should have also secured a minimum of 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in their 10+2 examination or be among the top 20 percentile in their respective board exams.
JEE Advanced is a three-hour exam comprising two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Each paper has three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The questions in the exam are designed to test the candidate's understanding of the concepts, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
The application process for JEE Advanced is online and usually starts in May. Candidates who qualify for JEE Main and are among the top 2,50,000 candidates are eligible to register for JEE Advanced.

BOARDS FAQs

The exam pattern for board exams varies from board to board but generally comprises a mix of subjective and objective questions. The exam is conducted in multiple sessions, and the duration of each session varies from board to board.
The passing criteria for board exams vary from board to board, but generally, students need to score a minimum of 33% marks in each subject and an overall aggregate of 40% to pass the exam.

IIT admissions FAQs

The admission process for IITs is a two-stage process. The first stage is qualifying JEE Main, which is a national-level engineering entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The second stage is appearing for JEE Advanced, which is conducted by one of the IITs. Candidates who qualify JEE Advanced are eligible for admission to various undergraduate engineering and architecture courses in the top IITs and other prestigious engineering colleges across India.
To be eligible for admission to IITs, candidates should have secured a minimum of 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in their 10+2 examination or be among the top 20 percentile in their respective board exams. They should also have qualified JEE Main and rank among the top 2,50,000 candidates and then cleared JEE Advanced.
After the announcement of JEE Advanced results, candidates need to register for counselling on the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) website. The counselling process involves registration, choice filling, seat allocation, and document verification. Candidates who are allocated seats need to report to the designated reporting centres for document verification and fee payment.
The documents required for admission to IITs include JEE Advanced admit card, JEE Advanced scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets and passing certificates, category certificate (if applicable), provisional seat allotment letter, and fee payment receipt.
No, there is no management quota for admission to IITs. Admission is solely based on merit and candidates who qualify JEE Main and JEE Advanced are eligible for admission to IITs.
The fee structure for IITs varies from institute to institute and is subject to change. However, the fee for undergraduate courses is generally around Rs. 2-3 lakhs per annum, which includes tuition fees, hostel fees, and other expenses.
